We had a good day working on a Saturday on the Chief Joseph Trail despite the marginal weather! Eight of us cleared 3 miles of trail, cut out 12 logs, filled in 1 hole in the tread which a falling tree had made, put up 2 new signs, and removed rocks from about 30 yards of trail. Near the north end of the main switchback we encountered a large snow drift and another snowstorm, which is where we called it a day. We will schedule another work party later to finish this trail up to the 6400 foot level. Thanks to all who participated!
