Freezeout: Saddle Creek Trail
June 4, 2022
This tree had the good sense to fall outside the wilderness boundary, which meant this intrepid volunteer could use any means at his disposal to clear the trail. Fortunately, he was trained in the use of a chainsaw.
The tree lay across multiple switchbacks of the trail. First he cut and cleared the large limbs from the upper legs of the trail. Then he cut the main trunk into rounds, and rolled them away from the lower leg of the trail. He went on to clear away a couple of older downed trees in the area near the creek, for good measure. Thank you, volunteer!
